BOC recognises that development of employees, their skills and knowledge, are key to our business. We therefore place a high importance on the ongoing development of our employees.

Two of our key commitments to our people are that “careers are built and developed at BOC” and to “provide you with the resources to do your job and help you to develop your skills”. They are the commitments we challenge ourselves, and each other, to live by every day.

Employees are encouraged to be proactive about their development opportunities and involve their managers in planning future career and development requirements. Managers are responsible to stimulate, challenge and mentor members of their teams. The aims are to enhance effectiveness in the current job as well as build for future job opportunities in BOC.

BOC offers a variety of development programs including: graduate development programs for recent chemical engineering or mechanical engineering graduates; development programs for more experienced applicants typically with business or engineering degrees; development programs for sales professionals; engineering or instrumentation/electrical apprenticeships; traineeships in retail, customer service, distribution and operations; and supporting employees through a Frontline Leadership Program.
